Why Do I See Frequent Queries Fired Against SystemInfo Table? (Doc ID 2196073.1)

Queries against SystemInfo table are found firing very frequently, especially after a pubsession during page regeneration on a publishing target:

SELECT tblname,defdir,systable,acl,metadata FROM SystemInfo
SELECT tblname,defdir,systable,acl,metadata FROM SystemInfo WHERE tblname = ?

This is causing performance issue with page regeneration and leading to STUCK threads reported by WebLogic.
