Goal

 OIM 11.1.2.3.161018 and above

After deploying and configuring the rest.ear archive to use Oracle Identity Governance (OIG) Self Service REST APIs, SSL will be enabled for Oracle Identity Manager server and the REST service will be configured to use SSL.

The process for deploying the OIM REST API feature enables SSL in WLS. Enabling SSL is mandatory while configuring the Self Service REST APIs but once it is done,it is optional to disable SSL. It is shipped out of the box requiring SSL, but in certain cases there might be a requirement to not run the rest.ear calls using SSL. For example, in a development environment, or SSL termination at the SSL level. If there is SSL termination at the load balancer level, then disabling SSL would be required to fit into one's current environment.
