Symptoms

Setting the following java startup argument fails to take effect:

Because of this problem, the installed wildcard cert is not being honored, resulting in client hostname mismatch errors.

Setting up the wildcard hostname verifier via the admin console succeeds, but the requirement here is to automate this setting to allow scripting server creation.
