Exalogic Virtual: Procedure To Recover Missing vm.cfg File From A Running Guest vServer (Doc ID 2221172.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 14, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud Software - Version 2.0.6.0.0 and later
Linux x86-64
Oracle Virtual Server x86-64

Purpose

In some cases, Exalogic vServers vm.cfg configuration files may be deleted by mistake.

This document provides the step by step procedure to recover a missing vm.cfg file of the Guest vServer.

NOTE:

A vServer must contain the basic guest configuration files, vm.cfg and system.img.

As per a running vServer, a missing vm.cfg file will not affect its running. However, this vServer cannot reboot without vm.cfg with subsequent reboot attempts.
