OPEN_FORM, NO_SESSION, Mouse Navigation Causing First Character to Appear End (Doc ID 222559.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 13, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Forms - Version 6.0.8 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Purpose

When a form is called using OPEN_FORM with NO_SESSION parameter and
while coming back to the calling form the first character typed in
the field appears as the last.

Scope

Consider 2 forms Form_A & Form_B in which Form_A calls Form_B using
Open_form and no_session. In Form_A a button calls Form_B. Go to Form_B
do some modification save and comeback to Form_A. Use mouse to navigate
to the Form_A and type some value in text field. In this case the first
character typed appears at the end. If you type ABC it will be displayed as BCA.

This happens only if user uses Mouse to navigate to the field.
And this doesnot happen if TAB key is used.

Also this error is not reproduced if SESSION is used in open_form
instead of NO_SESSION.
