Extreme Performance Issues With EJB Invocations On WLS 12.2.1.2.0 (Doc ID 2240108.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 01, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle WebLogic Server - Version 12.2.1.2.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Customer has a multi-tier application, where a Swing client talks (via a proprietary protocol) to a (proprietary) Server, which in turn uses RMI calls to invoke EJB methods in WLS environment. One click in the user interface can lead to tens, sometimes hundreds of EJB method calls. This used to work without problems on WLS 12.1.3.0.0, however, with 12.2.1.2.0 customer is seeing extremely poor performance. In the worst case, each RMI invocation is delayed by about 2 seconds before even starting to do the real work. This means that for the end-user, a single click can result in extreme delay in response time with up to 4 minutes and more.

Changes

Upgrade weblogic from WLS 12.1.3 to WLS 12.2.1.2.0
