Invalid Column Type: GetCharacterStream Not Implemented For Class When Using resultSet.getCharacterStream (Doc ID 2241457.1)

Symptoms

Oracle JDBC driver does not allow numeric expressions to be retrieved using the resultSet.getCharacterStream.
The errors might be:

Invalid column type: getCharacterStream not implemented for class oracle.jdbc.driver.T4CNumberAccessor
Invalid column type: getCharacterStream not implemented for class oracle.jdbc.driver.T4CBinaryDouble

depending on the data type of the column or expression being retrieved.
