How to Display Image in WSRP Portlet That is Consumed in WebCenter Portal (Doc ID 2254555.1)

Last updated on APRIL 12, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Portal - Version 11.1.1.8.8 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Image included in WSRP Portlet is not rendered when it is consumed in WebCenter Portal. When the underlying Portlet code references image using relative URL, the image is not displayed. Whereas, if the image is referenced using an absolute URL, image displays, but page refreshes repeatedly without user action.

A review of the image (hyper) link when the Portlet is consumed in WebCenter Portal looks like this:
   http://my.server.com/webcenter/resourceproxy/~.portletId~.....<really...long...string...of...characters...>...../myImage.gif

What is the correct way to include image in a WSRP Portlet such that it displays when consumed in WebCenter Portal?
