Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

In Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) 12.2.1, the Physical tab of a Mapping will not show if the Lock object when opening property is set to Ask in the ODI Studio menu bar > Tools > Preferences > ODI > System > Concurrent Development.

Following are example steps which can reproduce the behavior:

  1. Start ODI Studio, and connect to a Work Repository.

  2. In the menu bar, click Tools > Preferences
  3. Under ODI > System > Concurrent Development, set: "Lock object when opening" = Ask

Click Ok to apply the changes.

  4. In Designer, expand any Project, and open / edit a Mapping.

Upon opening, you will be prompted with:

"Do you want to lock this object to prevent other users from modifying it until you unlock it?"

    Respond "No"

    Mapping will open Logical tab.

Click on Physical tab, and select "No" again when asked if you want to lock object.

Properties will display, but the Mapping editor will not display anything but the message "Waiting for Editor to Initialize" no matter how long you wait.
