Current Number Of Services Metric Continually Grows For Application Servers In Tuxedo Configuration (Doc ID 2268345.1)

Last updated on JUNE 26, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Tuxedo - Version 12.1.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On : Tuxedo Version 12.1.3.0.0, 32-bit, Patch Level 061
The current number of services continually grows until it nears the Tuxedo ubb configuration MAXSERVICES parameter limit which is currently set to 8000.
On initial startup the number of services is 3188. Requires reboot of the Tuxedo domain if MAXSERVICES limit is reached
Typically the environment is bounced once a month for maintenance so it gets reset prior to reaching the current levels
Otherwise an unplanned outage would occur to clear the service counts back to startup levels

NOTE:  The attribute values used in this article represent fictitious sample names that are made up as example. Any similarity to actual code, is purely coincidental and not intended in any other manner.

When MAXSERVICES limit is exceeded the error is:

000027.tuxmachine!myappserver.xx.1.0: 05-14-2017: Tuxedo Version 12.1.3.0.0, 32-bit
