WebCenter Sites 11g to 12c Schema Upgrade Failed with INSERT INTO ATTRTYPES and SEGMENTS Tables (Doc ID 2272815.1)

Symptoms

Upgrade from 11.1.1.8.0 Patch 12+ to 12c PatchSet 2 failed during the upgrade of schema:

a. Upgrade of schema failed with INSERT INTO ATTRTYPES table.

b. Upgrade of schema failed with INSERT INTO SEGMENTS table.

 

It's observed that:

a. In 11g ATTRTYPES table, the VALUETYPE column is the last column, while in 12g ATTRTYPES table the VALUETYPE column is the 3rd column. The order of the other columns remains the same.

b. In 11g SEGMENTS table, the NAME column is the 7th column, while in 12g SEGMENTS table, the NAME column is the 2nd column. The order of the other columns remains the same.


The error noticed in logs is: 
ORA-12899: value too large for column "SCHEMA_NAME"."ATTRTYPES"."STATUS" (actual: 11, maximum: 2)

Changes

The 11g environment was an upgraded environment from WebCenter Sites 7.6.x.
