IE Compatibility Mode / Compatibility View Support with Application Express (Doc ID 2283827.1)

Symptoms

After enabling IE 11.0 Compatible display, the APEX page does not render as expected. For example, when clicking a pop-up List of Values in APEX 5.0.4, the pop-up loses layout (e.g. close button is hidden).
This display is OK in normal display mode of IE11.

Is IE compatibility mode supported with APEX?
