OPatch Errors: "FMW Home is Corrupted (Weblogic Home is Not Found)" and "Java Could Not be located" (Doc ID 2291211.1)

Oracle Fusion Middleware - Version 11.1.1.2.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Applying a patch to an Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g home when the following error occurs:

Fusion Middleware Home is corrupted (Weblogic Home is not found)

D:\Java\bin\Java.exe could not be located. Opatch cannot proceed.

Opatch failed with Error code=1


Followed the readme to apply the patch:

--snippet---
Ensure that the directory containing the OPatch script appears in your $PATH;
then, enter the following command:

$opatch apply

Special Instructions:

- Make sure that all instances running under the ORACLE_HOME are shutdown before installing this patch.

Also, ensure that you exit the tool used to terminate the instance(s).

- This utility will fail if the Oracle inventory is not setup correctly.
To check the accessibility to the inventory run the following command:

$opatch lsinventory
