Edit/Save Basic Asset With Blob Attribute Without Uploading New Blob Corrupts/Deletes Existing Blob (Doc ID 2291760.1)

Symptoms

Have a basic asset type that contains a blob attribute. If you edit and save an existing asset without uploading new blob file, the existing blob file in the asset is deleted from the database and replaced with what appears to be the String of the blob's BlobServer URL now stored in the blob basic asset column.

Steps to reproduce:

1) Create a new basic asset using the following descriptor file. Enable it for any site and Create the start menus.
