OVD 11g - LDAP Ping breaks when switching the protocol from TCP to LDAP - ODSM reports "error" for all backend adapters (Doc ID 2292008.1)

Symptoms

On : 11.1.1.9.0 version, Virtual Directory Server

The ODSM GUI shows "error" for all backend adapters for LDAP ping protocol. Switching to TCP ping resolves the issue.

ERROR
-----------------------
The status for the Ldap Server shows 'error' on the ODSM GUI.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1 Log into ODSM
2.Go to the adapter Tab.
3.Configure an OVD adapter by providing all the required details.
4.Check the 'LDAP server status'. It should be OK.
5.Switch the 'Ping Protocol' from TCP to LDAP and click apply.
6.Check the 'LDAP server status' after sometime. It shows 'Error' State.

BUSINESS IMPACT

The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, users cannot switch the ping protocol to LDAP.
