Oracle Internet Directory (OID) User's Date Of Birth Is Showing One Day Less In OID Compare To Oracle Identity Manager (OIM) (Doc ID 2293533.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 22, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Internet Directory - Version 11.1.1.7.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Ldap sync is enabled/setup with OIM and OID components. This applies to all versions, as it's caused by an LDAP standard.

When user gets created/updated in OIM, user's date of birth (DOB) is going one day less in OID when compare to OID.

Need clarification on OID date format,

1) Both OIM and OID servers were in IST timezone machines or can be in any other timezone
2) OIM sending birth date as GMT format (+5:30) i.e in IST and it was expected LDAP(OID) to store same date.
3) The question from customer, why LDAP (i.e OID) saving date attribute in GMT not in IST (or based on server time) ?

a) Is it standard OID format ?
b) Is it possible to parse the date to server time ??

Example:
OIM date: 20-07-1991 12:07 IST
OID date: 19910719183000z
