Coherence Response Times Increased after Upgrading to 12c

Symptoms
After upgrading from Coherence 3.6/WLS 10.3.x to WLS/Coherence 12.2.1.0.0, response time of application is slow during load (normal time for a get call is 11 ms but during the load it is taking around 200 to 800 ms) . JDK is also upgraded from 1.6 to 1.8.0_66
Thread dumps collected shows below stack
2. Checked Storagemanager query stats in VisualVM and I see some non-optimized queries taking 200 ms to 800 ms.
3. In the JVisualVM Threads sections, I see worker thread count (dynamic pool) going up every sec and coming down.
4. Using Externalizable serialization.
