WLS 12C on IBM AIX with TLS V1.2 Enabled Fails with Log Errors: LIBOVD-60024, LDAP Error 2, java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Unsupported ciphersuite <cipher> (Doc ID 2294260.1)

Symptoms

Library Oracle Virtual Directory (libOVD) 12c on IBM AIX 7.1 and IBM JDK 1.7 or 1.8.

After enabling TLS v1.2 as the minimum protocol in Weblogic (WLS) 12c, LIBOVD-60024 and LDAP Error 2 error messages appear in the domain logs.

Following the Weblogic documentation, WLS is started with the flag  -Dweblogic.security.SSL.minimumProtocolVersion=TLSv1.2  and the following messages start appearing in the logs:
