Symptoms

YouTube Proxy Asset Video Search not working: "An exception occurred on the server while executing UI/Data/Search/Search: StringIndexOutOfBoundsException: String index out of range: -1"

In Contributor UI, when clicking the search button with "Search YouTube Video" option selected, the main search results pane displays an error that says, "An error occurred during search."
Additionally, there is a javascript popup indicating "An exception occurred on the server while executing UI/Data/Search/Search: StringIndexOutOfBoundsException: String index out of range: -1. If problem persists please contact the system administrator."

The following error is seen in the sites.log:
