When upgrading an Fusion Middleware installation to, the upgrade assistant fails with, java.lang.NullPointerException

Following is the complete error stack

The Readiness check run before the install shows the error UPG-OHS-00001: Source path ohs_dev_1 does not refer to an Oracle HTTP Server 12c component

Oracle HTTP Server
UPG-OHS-00009: Path <DOMAIN_HOME>/config/fmwconfig/components/OHS/ohs_dev_1 does not exist.
Cause: The expected file is missing.
Action: Verify the source OHS installation.
UPG-OHS-00001: Source path ohs_dev_1 does not refer to an Oracle HTTP Server 12c component.
Cause: An invalid source directory was specified.
Action: Select a valid Oracle HTTP Server component configuration directory.
