"ORA-00904: invalid identifier" Error When ODI 12c Mappings Are Using Oracle Tables With Mixed Case Letters (Doc ID 2297604.1)

When executing mappings using Oracle tables containing a mix of lower and upper case letters in their column names (for example "message_UID", "reportingEntity_Id") this error occurs:
ORA-00904: "Schema"."Column": invalid identifier 

"Column" is the Oracle table column with mixed lower and upper case letters.
