ODI Import of Physical Agent Fails with "ODI-11002: Error occurred while importing Objects" for Load Balanced Agents (Doc ID 2312152.1)

Last updated on APRIL 29, 2021

Applies to:

Oracle Data Integrator - Version 12.2.1.2.6 to 12.2.1.3.0 [Release 12c]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

In an Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) environment there are three agents configured for High Availability (HA) with Agent load balancing using a primary agent and 2 linked agents set via the Load Balancing page:

When attempting to import all three agents into another master/work repository using an export file which contains all three, an error indicates that objects agent_51910 and agent_51911 are missing and the import fails:

Note: The same error occurs in an environment where ODI is integrated to Version Control (VCS) Apache Subversion (SVN), when attempting to populate the ODI repository (branch) from SVN.

The following is an example of how the issue can be reproduced:

1. Create three new dummy agents:

LB_TEST1 is marked to load balance the other agents (via the "Load balancing" tab).

A. To reproduce using the Import process:

2. Create a smart export file that includes the load balanced agents

3. Login to the other repository and attempt to import

B - To reproduce in an VCS / SVN integrated environment:

2 - Create a partial tag including a project folder and the agents

3 - Create branch from tag

4 - Login to another empty ODI repository, and import into new branch: Populate ODI from VCS

In either case, the import fails with error indicating that there are agents missing.
