"Password Value Must Be An Instance Of GuardedString" Error During Password Reset of AS400 Account (Doc ID 2312194.1)

Symptoms

Using 11.1.1.5 version of AS400 Connector and while resetting the password for the AS400 account from OIM, the operation fails with the following error:

 

The issue can be reproduced with the following steps:
1. Have an Admin OR the end user themselves, reset / change the password of the provisioned AS400 Account via the Accounts tab for that user
2. The target does not get updated, instead the error above is seen in the log.
