ODI Reusable Mappings Retain References to Mapping, Even Though They are No Longer Used in the Mapping

Symptoms

When attempting to delete a reusable that what was previously used in another mapping but later removed from it the following warning occurs:

The object <RU_name> is used in the following mappings. Removing the objects may cause errors or prevent a mapping from working. Are you sure you want to delete this object?

The issue can be see using the following example reproduction steps:

  1. Create a reusable mapping RU
  2. Create a mapping MAP and add RU to it
  3. Right click on reusable mapping RU and notice that in "use" you can see that it is used in mapping MAP
  4. Delete RU from the mapping MAP
  5. Right click on reusable mapping RU and notice that in "use" the mapping MAP is no longer referenced
  6. Select the reusable mapping RU, attempt to delete and and notice that warning
