NullPointerException Error Creating Object Using OIM Generic REST Connector (Doc ID 2316563.1)

Symptoms

OIM Generic REST Connector is installed by following the connector documentation. While integrating OIM with a target for provisioning/reconciliation, account update operations are not working using username attribute with relURIs and customPayLoad.

Connector guide mentions unique ID should be provided in reiURL but in few scenario's username is the unique ID from target system.

By configuring username in reiURL, Rest connector is not populating the dynamic value of username in the relURI and below errors are thrown:
