OPSS - Is it possible Delete the OPSS Data Source? (Doc ID 2318483.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 22, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Platform Security for Java - Version 12.2.1.2.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
Using webcenter 11.1.1.9, after migrating from 11.1.1.9 to 12.2.1.2.

Goal

When having Webcenter 11.1.1.9. First moved the policy store to database from OID.

During this process manually created the datasource, and used this datasource, OPSS-DS, to re-associate Policy Store from OID to DB.

Later, while doing the Webcenter upgrade from 11.1.1.9 to 12.2.1.2, during the upgrade process, after running the reconfiguration in the domain, using reconfig.sh, a new data source is created, opss-data-source, for the OPSS schema.

After finalize the whole procedure, there are two data-sources:

- One created for policy re-association purposes

  Data Source Name: OPSS-DS
  JNDI Name: jdbc/OPSS_DS
  OPSS Schema: <PREFIX>_OPSS

- Another one data-source created by the system during the reconfiguration steps.

  Data Source Name: opss-data-source
  JNDI Name: jdbc/OpssDataSource
  OPSS Schema: <PREFIX>_OPSS

The jps-config.xml and config.xml configuration files, point to the data source: opss-data-source, created during the reconfiguration steps.

Additionally, the OPSS schema seems to be properly migrated, the SCHEMA_VERSION_REGISTRY query shows12.2.1.0.0 version and VALID yes.

After all of this, can be the OPSS-DS data source deleted?
