There is a need to select a field using scripting, when the document is selected. The below bug prevents the use of the FieldGotFocus event.

Bug 26840720 - FieldGotFocus is not executed after splitting a document using CTRL+E

Using the below function when moving from a document to another document results in the active field value being copied, which is not what is needed.

Is there a way to select an index field programmatically?
