Symptoms

Shared Assets are missing from WebCenter Portal Administration -> Shared Assets Page.

There is no error in the user interface and no error in the Portal diagnostic logs.

STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Connect to WebCenter Portal.
   
   
2. Go to Administration -> Shared Assets.
   You will see Shared assets are missing.
   None of the seeded or custom assets are showing.
   
   
3. Go to Administration -> Settings -> General.
   Under the Assets section you will see the custom assets that were selected before are no longer selected.

Changes

Issue was caused by revoking view permissions from Public-User.

This can be verified as follows from the WebCenter UI:

• Connect to WebCenter Portal.
  
  
• Go to Administration -> Security
  
  
• Select the Roles Tab.
  
  
• From the drop-down select the Public-User Role.
  
  
• There you can see the following permission is missing:
  
  Portal Server - View
