Symptoms

 Jconsole throws a warning message WARNING: Failed to deserialize a notification: java.rmi.UnmarshalException: when trying to connect to Weblogic servers version 12.2.1.2 via it to analyze a memory pattern.

The following warning message shows up about 10 times per second and moves the focusfrom the JConsole window to the JConsole: Output wdindow
