'No More data to read from socket' While Executing Queries on ERP Database (Doc ID 2345047.1)

Application using JDBC 11.2.0.4 faces the following error while executing queries on a 12.1.0.2 database using a connection pool:

Could not execute statement No more data to read from socket

SQL*Plus connection works fine. This issue comes when JDBC connectivity is established from SOA server.
