OVD 11g Cannot Open Key Store And Server Shuts Down. "Cannot start Oracle Virtual Directory server: null" (Doc ID 2349320.1)

Symptoms

OVD cannot start after updating the java version.

below errors appear in the OVD access logs -

com.octetstring.vde.util.DirectoryException
at com.octetstring.vde.util.CSFUtil.refreshCredStore(CSFUtil.java:265)
at com.octetstring.vde.backend.BackendHandler.reloadDynamicConfig(BackendHandler.java:284)

 

 

Changes

Scenario 1

1. Java version was updated from Java 1.6.0_24 to 1.6.0_171. 

2. Java binaries are copied from <OS_JAVA_HOME>\jdk to <ORACLE_HOME>\jdk

Scenario 2

this can happen if opmn.xml is updated to point to the default java location.
