Goal

Can the Java part of the OGG Build be upgraded ?

Yes, you can update the JDK version. There are numerous reasons to want to upgrade the Java / JDK versions, but primarily it is to remove any security vulnerabilities.

 

Java usage in Oracle GoldenGate Classic Architecture

The Java / JDK code in the Oracle GoldenGate installation directories for Oracle GoldenGate Classic Architecture is from the Oracle Universal Installer portion of Oracle GoldenGate and is not used by any Oracle GoldenGate components.

 

Java usage in Oracle GoldenGate Microservices Architecture

The Java / JDK code in the Oracle GoldenGate installation directories for Oracle GoldenGate Microservices Architecture is from the Oracle Universal Installer portion of the installation and for the Oracle GoldenGate Configuration Assistant (oggca.sh) program.
