After installing OIM bundle patch 188.8.131.52.170924 which includes fix for <Bug 24614289> "REQUEST STATUS SHOULD BE DISPLAYED AS EXPIRED NOT FAILED WHEN TASK IS EXPIRED, the requests which have expired are still showing up in Failed status.
