Forms 12c WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT URL Truncated when URL Contains Spaces (Doc ID 2371625.1)

Last updated on MAY 31, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Forms - Version 12.2.1.2.0 and later
Oracle Forms for OCI - Version 12.2.1.4.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

A Forms & Reports application is being migrated from 11g to Forms & Reports 12.2.1.x Forms and Reports. This application uses a WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT call to run the reports in the application. The WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT is similar to the following:

web.show_document('/reports/rwservlet?'
||v_Key_Map||'+'
||'report='||v_report_name||'+'
||v_user_param
, '_blank');

The URL created s similar to:
http://hostname:port/reports/rwservlet?kdesenv+report=<reportname>.rdf+where_bolsa=bol.cod_bolsa = 20 and+where_perc=+where_periodo=last_day(trunc(ctr.dt_inclusao))

After upgrading to 12c, any report URL generated in Forms that has blank space characters is not parsing the report request properly. The request is truncated after the first space.
This same application / code ran successfully in 11.1.x Forms / Reports.

Changes

 Upgraded Forms / Reports from 11.1.x to 12.2.1.x.
