Cursor Loses Focus with SeparateFrame=False in Forms on the Web (Doc ID 239820.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 13, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Forms - Version 6.0.8 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

The focus of cursor does not get back to forms application on web after a
different application is opened with ALT+TAB and minimized.

Here are the steps to explain this:
1. Open a form on web in browser with SeparateFrame parameter set to
   False (default).
2. Click on a text item and so the cursor gets into that item.
3. Press ALT+TAB to open a different application and then minimize or close it.
4. Now, the focus of cursor is lost on web form and you have to click once
again on the required item to get the cursor back onto the form. This is a
serious problem for those who do not use mouse and who want to transact
with forms using the keyboard only.
5. This problem occurs when separateFrame applet parameter is set to 'False'
in formsweb.cfg file, which is the default setting.
