PURPOSE

This document explains the use of the SCHEDULE parameter that is used in Reports Server to schedule Reports requests, and provides some examples.

SCOPE & APPLICATION

Application Developers and anyone interested in scheduling Reports with the Reports Server.

Scheduling Reports

Scheduling is a feature available to run Reports automatically at a specified time and with a given frequency. Reports can be scheduled on the Reports Server using Reports Queue Manager OR through the use of SCHEDULE parameter with rwclient, rwservlet, or rwcgi (10g or less).

Reports Queue Manager provides a user interface that can be used to schedule Reports.  SCHEDULE parameter takes a string as its value. If the value given is incorrect, then an error message is thrown:

In previous Reports releases:

REP-50006: Bad schedule argument on the command line: <offending syntax>.

In Reports 12.2.1.3.0:

REP-50006: The SCHEDULE argument is invalid on the command line: <offending syntax>.
