Replicate Process Abending with Fatal Error Executing DDL Replication (Doc ID 2404547.1)

Symptoms

Customer's replicate process was abending with the below mentioned error:

2018-04-22 12:04:14 INFO OGG-01407 Oracle GoldenGate Delivery for Oracle, <rep name>.prm: Setting current schema for DDL operation to [SYS].
2018-04-22 12:04:14 ERROR OGG-00519 Oracle GoldenGate Delivery for Oracle, <rep name>.prm: Fatal error executing DDL replication: error [Error code [1119], ORA-01119: error in creating database file '<Path>/<db file name>.dbf'
ORA-27040: file create error, unable to create file
Solaris-AMD64 Error: 2: No such file or directory
Additional information: 1 SQL create tablespace <tablespace name> datafile '<Path>/<db file name>.dbf' size 50m /* GOLDENGATE_DDL_REPLICATION */], no error handler present.
2018-04-22 12:04:14 ERROR OGG-01668 Oracle GoldenGate Delivery for Oracle, <rep name>.prm: PROCESS ABENDING.
