Unable to login to the ElasticSearch URL after installing Elasticsearch and plugins.

ERROR

The following error is displayed in the Elastic Search log:

[ERROR][o.w.s.e.auth ] Password Credential Store is null

STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Create a crawl admin user for ES per the following documentation:

Fusion Middleware Administering Oracle WebCenter Portal
10 Configuring Elasticsearch in WebCenter Portal
10.4 Creating a Crawl Admin User in WebCenter Portal

  2. Configure Elastic Search and plugins for WebCenter Portal as stated in the following documentation:

Fusion Middleware Administering Oracle WebCenter Portal
10 Configuring Elasticsearch in WebCenter Portal
    10.5 Installing Elasticsearch and Plugins

  3. Access the URL http://<HOSTNAME>:9200 using the Mozilla Firefox browser.
Here you won't be able to login using the crawl admin user.

The login prompt will show again.

The Elastic Search log under <ES_HOME>/esNode/logs will show the following error:

[ERROR][o.w.s.e.auth ] Password Credential Store is null
