Symptoms
After changing passwords of the users of a Tomcat application using UCP and JDBC 12.1.0.1, a new application war file is created and moved into a java environment.
When Tomcat starts up, it fails with the error:
java.lang.Exception: Exception in ConnectionPool constructor():
oracle.ucp.UniversalConnectionPoolException: Cannot get Connection from Datasource
The application has a verify_password function that validates the password to be of a certain length. After changing the passwords to the new length required by verify_password function, the connections fail.
Resetting passwords to what they were before being changed works fine.
Changes
Passwords were changed.
