OHS 12c (12.1.3) Using SSL Crashes With the Error "exit signal Segmentation fault (11)" and Generates Core Dump (Doc ID 2411567.1)

Enterprise Manager Base Platform - Version 13.2.0.0.0 and later
Oracle Solaris on SPARC (64-bit)
IBM AIX on POWER Systems (64-bit)

Symptoms

When using Oracle HTTP Server 12.1.3, OHS crashes and generates core dumps with the below notification in the logs:

[OHS] [NOTIFICATION:16] [OHS-9999] [core.c] [host_id: <FQHN>]
[host_addr: <IP>] [pid: <PID>] [tid: <TID>] [user: <UID>] [VirtualHost: main] child pid <pid> exit signal Segmentation fault (11)


The issue has only been seen in AIX and Solaris Sparc platforms. It may be in others (but see the solution first).
