ORABPEL-02118 Variant Not Found After Redeployment With New Process Variable and "Keep (Doc ID 2413462.1)

Symptoms

You might be experiencing this issue if you see the error "ORABPEL-02118 Variant not found".

There is a previous document regarding this error: "ORABPEL-02118 Variant Not Found" (Doc ID 1568838.1) and Patch 16989238. But that fix is already included in 12.1.3.0 and newer versions.

In the diagnostic logs you see that this issue takes place in a given processe identified by:
ComponentDN: <DOMAIN>/<ProjectName>!<version>*<MDS SOA label>/<ProcessName>

The issue could take place in different activities. It seems to affect the same object type. For example, in the errors below it affects "reactivarDO" and "reactivarEvaluacionDO" process data objects (these are custom created objects, so, your data object names will vary).  Here are some of the errors you might experience:
