Unable To Get Portlet Response For Portlet Instance ID - WCP Bug 27144287 & ADF Bug 27343900

Every two days users are receiving Portlet Consumer Error in a custom framework portal. The log shows:
29-Oct-2017 19:23:34 o'clock CET> <Error> <oracle.portlet.binding> <BEA-000000> <An error has occurred for Portlet Binding <portlet_name>.
oracle.adf.model.portlet.binding.PortletBindingException: Unable to get portlet response for portlet instance ID /oracle/adf/portlet/<WsrpPortletProducer>/ap/<portlet_name> for portlet binding <portlet_name>_1.
Restarting the WC_Spaces managed servers solves the issue for a while but will re-occur. Also clearing the MDS cache fixes the issue temporarily:
Navigate Application Defined MBeans -> oracle.mds.lcm -> Server: <Your Server> -> Application: <Your Application> -> MDSAppRuntime -> MDSAppRuntime -> Select the Operations tab and press the clearCache hyperlink.
Users should not receive a Portlet Consumer Error in the custom portal.
WCP servers must be restarted to restore Portlets communications. Due to this issue, users cannot access portlets due to PortletBindingException.
