Goal

Customer used well known patch to install the latest Java SE 7 (7u181) on their system. A previous update to Java 7, u171, was already installed on the system. Customer expected installation of the latest update to remove the previously installed update. Not only did that not happen but existing RPM commands to list out Java SE packages failed to capture anything about the latest update. Why does this happen.
