Symptoms

CDC Extract has abended which is reading DB2 11.1 database and writing to trail files using Oracle GoldenGate Capture for DB2 Version 12.3.0.1.0.
 The extract process abended at date&time : 2018-07-01 14:16:58. The "view report extract (EDB2)" command has reported the following ERROR.
 ERROR OGG-00551 Database operation failed: read sp - execute. ODBC error: SQLSTATE 40003 native database error -99999. [IBM][CLI Driver] CLI0108E Communication link failure. SQLSTATE=40003.

This CDC extract process needs to re-start ASAP. After repeated attempts the process failed to re-start.
Kindly give us reason why ODBC connection failure with SQLSTATE 40003 is occurring please.
