Last updated on AUGUST 13, 2018

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Portal - Version 12.2.1.3.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR

Unable to hide the following URL to the Enterprise Library directory for browsing view:

https://server:port/webcenter/content/conn/WebCenterSpaces-ucm/path/Enterprise Libraries/

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR

Should be able to protect the URL from public access.

STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Get the name of the WebCenter portal connection to content server.
    e.g.:

    • Connect to Fusion Middleware Control.

    • Navigate to the WebCenter Portal home.
      WebCenter -> Portal -> Server -> WebCenter Portal (WC_Portal)

    • From the WebCenter Portal drop-down menu select:
      Settings -> Service Configuration

    • Select: Content Repository

    • Note down the name of the content repository connection.
      e.g.: WebCenterSpaces-ucm

  2. Using the WebCenter Portal host name and port and the content server connection access this URL in a browser:

    http://server:port/webcenter/content/conn/WebCenterSpaces-ucm/path/Enterprise Libraries/

    You should see the URL shows content folder of public portals without accessing the content directly from WebCenter Portal.
