How To Grant Access to Operators Users to Change Password (Doc ID 2434873.1)

Last updated on MAY 08, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle WebLogic Server - Version 12.1.3.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

This document provides information on how to change which users have privileges to change user password Administrator privileges. For example, if a user only belongs to the Operators groups. In the default groups, only users who are members of the Administrator group have permission to change user password. This is possible to change through WLS Console configuration changes.

Note: This document is a procedure for granting operational authority on the WebLogic Authentication provider (DefaultAuthenticatorMBean). In order to grant the user permission to change the password, the authority is granted to all operations of "DefaultAuthenticatorMBean" because it is necessary to grant authority on multiple operations of "DefaultAuthenticatorMBean".
