SQL Developer Number Column Formatting Output has Random Indentations (Doc ID 2435294.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 08, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle SQL Developer - Version 18.1 to 18.2
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Using SQL Developer 18.x, there are problems with column formatting of numbers having random indentations.

This worked fine in SQL Developer 4.1.

In this example, you can see that the number value in TEST_LONG_COLU_NAME is indented. If the column name is shorter, this does not happen. Also, if the NUMBER is low (like 0), then the issue also does not occur.

In SQL*Plus, the number column is right justified.

In SQL Developer 18.1 and 18.2, the number column is not left/not right/not center justified.

Changes

Upgraded to SQL Developer version 18.1
