Last updated on MARCH 14, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Portal - Version 12.2.1.1.0 to 12.2.1.3.0
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On : 12.2.1.2.171018 version, Configuration and Administration

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
Content presenter with 'Results of a query' not refreshed after expiry-delay time.

Customer Notes:
--------------------------
The following documentation states "...if a contributor data file is being modified through a method other than using WebCenter Portal, a running WebCenter Portal page that also uses the same data file will not immediately see those updates. This is due to the WebCenter Portal page using Content Presenter to display the contents of the data file while WebCenter Portal is using the cached version of the data file. Fortunately, there is a way to configure the cache so that changes like this are picked up quickly and automatically."

How to configure the cache so that changes like this are picked up quickly and automatically as noted in document.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------
Expect to see the changes after expiry-delay time.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Override the Configure configuration with a custom expiry-delay for results of a query.
  e.g.:

  ContentResultOfAQueryCaches
  2m
  1000

2. Access a page with content presenter based on resuts of a query.
  Do not close this session.

3. Update a data file.

4. Wait > 2 minutes.

5. Get back to the page with content presenter.
Navigate a way from the page and get back.

You will see the content is not refreshed.
