(Doc ID 2442733.1)
Last updated on AUGUST 05, 2024
Applies to:
Oracle WebLogic Server - Version 12.2.1.0.0 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
With an .ear that contains several .war (applications), if no <session-descriptor> element is specified in the weblogic-application.xml file at META-INF/weblogic-application.xml in the .ear, then the session-descriptor elements defined in the WEB-INF/weblogic.xml file in the .war take effect. But if a <session-descriptor> element is defined in the weblogic-application.xml, then the elements defined in weblogic.xml in the .war are ignored. In other words, the weblogic-application.xml settings take precedence over the weblogic.xml settings.
