Symptoms

In Exalogic Virtual racks, issue of newly created vServers from EMOC BUI not having networks is seen. The issue is seen both when using Custom template or Base Guest template and regardless of the networks selected from EMOC when creating vServer. Issue can be seen just by creating new vServer with just IPoIB-vServer-shared-storage network.

Below are "NetworkError: Failed to create partition with fabrictag" error messages are seen in /var/log/ovm-network.log on the newly created guest vServer. In order to get into newly created vServer which does not have networks to check ovm-network.log, we can do "xm console" to the UUID of the newly created guest vServer on the Compute Node where it started and then do CTRL D.
